Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour

After you arrive at the Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our professional driver guide. He or she will brief you about your 20 days all-Uganda Tour.

You will embark on the drive around the city of Kampala. Visit places like Kasubi tombs, Buganda Kingdom Palace, Bahai Temple, and the local markets.

Lunch will be at any restaurant within the city. In the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja – Explore the source of the Nile

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Jinja – the source of the world’s longest river – the River Nile.

You will do a plantation tour, visit the source of the Nile, and take part in some of the many adventurous activities like bungee jumping, quad biking, or white water rafting.

Day 3: Transfer to Mount Elgon National Park

After a delicious breakfast on the 3rd day of your 20 days all-Uganda tour, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Mount Elgon National Park.

You will have lunch en route and enjoy scenic views of the Mountain as you draw closer to it. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for relaxation. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Explore Sipi Falls

Start your day with breakfast and start your hike to the top of the Sipi Falls.

The hike comes with views of wildlife and bird species. Interact with the local members of the communities and feel the breeze of Africa’s wilderness.

Alternatively, you may hike Elgon Mountain and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding areas at Wagagai Peak. Mount Elgon is famous for being home to the world’s largest volcanic caldera. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

This is Uganda’s most isolated park.

It is located in the northeastern parts of the country spanning through the Karamoja region.

Day 6: Full-day game drives in Kidepo Valley and Narrus Valley

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive. Explore the park at length and see animals like lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, etc.

You will visit Kidepo and Narrus Valley and see multiple bird and plant species.

A picnic lunch in the bush will be organized by your lodge. Enjoy the meal in the middle of nowhere. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Visit the Ik people

After a relaxed breakfast, you will embark on the hike to the Morungole Mountains. You will meet the Ik people and dive into their culture.

The Ik tribe is on the verge of extinction and thus a UNESCO Cultural Heritage.

These are a group of people that rejected to subscribe to the rules of modernization. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, head to Uganda’s oldest and largest national Park – Murchison Falls National Park.

The park is famous for being home to 4 of the big five animals namely; lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo.

Day 9: Morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise, and hike to the top of the falls

Murchison Falls National Park

This is one of the best days on your 20 days all-Uganda tour. Start it with a lip-smirking breakfast. You will go for a morning game drive and get to see the early risers of the park. Murchison Falls National Park is a famous destination for birding in Uganda.

You will meet animals like lions, elephants, antelopes, gazelles, warthogs, buffaloes, etc. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise on the Nile River. This will introduce you to schools of hippos and many crocodiles.

The boat will drop you at the bottom of the falls from where your hike will start. With the help of an experienced guide, you will hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls – Murchison Falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will make a stopover and take a glance at the lush green vegetation as well as scenic views of the hills.

Lunch will be en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for relaxation. Spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland walk

After breakfast, you will go to the Visitor’s Center for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.

You will then enter the forests in search of a particular chimp family. Upon encountering them, you will spend an hour in their presence.

Follow the rules and regulations regarding the activity. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi swamp. This is a well-known area for birding and community tours. You will interact with local members of the community and see hundreds of bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Visit the Crater Lakes area, Amabere Caves, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 13: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga Channel

You will meet animals like elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, gazelles, etc. Visit the Katwe salt mining area. Return to your lodge for lunch.  In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel. You will encounter many birds, hippos, and Nile crocodiles. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Game drive in Ishasha sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will encounter the rare tree-climbing lions and other animal, plant, and bird species.

Continue with an en-route lunch to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Mgahinga National Park

Start your day with breakfast and a briefing at the park headquarters. You will enter the impenetrable forests of Bwindi in search of mountain gorillas.

Upon encountering a gorilla family, you will be given one hour to spend in their presence. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will check out of the lodge and head to Kisoro district – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The park is a famous destination for Uganda primate tours. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Golden Monkey tracking and Batwa community tour

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then enter the forests in search of golden monkeys.

You will spend one hour in their presence upon encountering the monkey family.

You will also see hundreds of birds roaming the park. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa communities before spending the night at your lodge.

Day 17: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

The 17th day of your 20 days all-Uganda tour starts with a relaxed breakfast.

This is followed by the transfer to Kabale – Lake Bunyonyi. This is Uganda’s deepest lake and is home to multiple bird species.

You will explore the lake visit the 29 islands and learn about the stories attached to each island. In the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

The park is known for having many zebras and antelopes. You will stop over in Mbarara for lunch. You will also visit the Igongo Cultural Center and hike to the Eclipse Monument. Continue to Lake Mburo, check in to your lodge, and spend the night over.

Day 19: Horseback riding and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo

After breakfast, you will go for a guided horseback riding safari in Lake Mburo National Park.

This is an amazing adventure as it allows you to explore the park on a horse.

You will meet animals like leopards, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, waterbucks, bushbucks, etc. A picnic lunch in the bush will be organized by your lodge.

In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise at Lake Mburo. You will meet many birds, local members of the community, hippos, and crocodiles. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Transfer to Kampala – Departure

Embark on the drive to Kampala via the Mbarara – Masaka – Kampala highway. Lunch will be en route.

You will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator and take pictures. The driver will drop you at the Entebbe International Airport for an outbound flight. This marks the end of your amazing 20 days all-Uganda tour.
