8 Days Uganda Tour

Overview.

This eight days safari has been curated with the main aim of enabling nature enthusiasts to fulfill their interests in exploring the pearl of Africa.

Travellers on this safari will explore some of the most iconic conservation areas there is in the country especially Kibale national park where they will have encounters with the chimpanzees, Queen Elizabeth national park for the opportunity to observe the breathtaking landscapes and the iconic tree climbing lions.

Visitors will also engage in experiential lion tracking. They will further conduct visits to Bwindi impenetrable National Park to have an up close encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas and also have remarkable experiences on the Batwa trails in the forest

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1. Arrival in Uganda, pick up from the airport.

Meet the guide on arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Interact and thereafter undertake the journey to the hotel in Kampala. Relax in the premises of the hotel, the well appointed staff will serve to you delicious meals.

Enjoy the views of the city and in the evening.  You will conduct a walk around the premises of the hotel to get immersed in the fields of the  atmosphere. Evening meals will be served to you and you will be accommodated for the night.

Day 2. Head to Kibale National Park. Nature walk.

In the wee hours of the morning, you will be served a mouth watering breakfast by the team at the hotel. After breakfast, you will undertake the transfer to Kibale National Park. The journey will take you approximately 4 hours and 52 minutes covering the 276.1 kilometer distance.

On arrival in the National Park, you will continue to the lodging facility and have lunch amidst the views of the green tropical rainforest.

After lunch, you’ll undertake a nature walk in the forest to enjoy the breeze of the forests and watch the wildlife species within especially the primates including the black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys and lhoests.

The nature walk will help you reconnect with nature and reflect on the beauty of Uganda.  Head back to the lodge at sunset to unwind,  have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 3. Chimpanzee trekking. Bigodi sanctuary.

Have breakfast at the lodging facility at the first light of the day. After breakfast, you will undertake a meeting with the Rangers of the park who will guide you about the guidelines of the chimpanzee trekking activity.

Make your way into the jungle to trek the chimpanzees amidst the guidance of the Rangers. The activity will keep you occupied until midday when you travel back to the lodge to get served lunch.

After lunch, you will undertake an exploration of the Bigodi sanctuary in the park. It is a renowned birding site and is outstanding due to its lush vegetation that you will explore the entire evening.

You will indulge in photography and videography until sunset when you will head back to the lodge to have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 4. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Game drive.

In the misty morning, you will be served a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Enjoy the meal and after check out embark on the travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This journey will take you approximately 1 hour and 44 minutes covering the 75.2 kilometer distance.

Upon arrival in the National Park, you will explore the northern provinces where you will have the opportunity to watch animals including the African bush elephants, lions, leopards and antelopes.

Transfer to the lodge at around midday to get served lunch and rest in the afternoon. An evening game drive will be conducted in the park for more opportunities to observe animals. Head back to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5. Sunrise game drive. Experiential lion tracking. Boat cruise.

Upon waking up at sunrise, you’ll be served a well marinated breakfast after which you will undertake a sunrise game drive through the park for an opportunity to view wild cats.

Enjoy the game drive until mid morning when you will embark on experiential lion tracking. The experiential and tracking will help you view more of the lions in the park.

Enjoy the activity until high noon when you will travel back to the lodge to get served lunch. After lunch, you will undertake a boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

The boat cruise will allow you the opportunity to view marine wildlife especially hippos and crocodiles. Transfer back to the lodge at sunset for dinner and a night time rest.

Day 6. Morning game drive. Exit through the South in Ishasha. Head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Have breakfast at the lodging facility in the wee hours of the morning.

After breakfast, you will then undertake a morning game drive to further get availed with opportunities to watch more wildlife species.

The activity will take you until the mid morning when you undertake the exciting journey through the southern provinces of the park in Ishasha sector.

In the sector, you will have an exclusive tree climbing lion experience.

Enjoy watching the tree climbing lions do their thing and after head to the South. You will have a lunch stopover in Mbarara.

After lunch, you will continue to the South  the wind impenetrable National Park, a journey that will take you about 5 hours and 17 minutes covering the 146.4 kilometer distance. Check in at the lodge on arrival and relax. Dinner will be served later and you will be accommodated for the night.

Day 7. Gorilla trekking, Batwa trail.

After breakfast in the foggy morning, you will have a meeting with the Rangers who will brief you about the dos and don’ts while on the gorilla trekking activity. After the briefing,  the Rangers will accompany you to the forest to meet the endangered mountain gorillas.

You will be allowed a maximum of an hour to watch the gorillas interact once you meet a family. Transfer back to the lodge after to get served lunch.

After lunch, you will undertake the Batwa trail adventures. Enjoy the experiences in their homesteads as you interact with the locals the entire evening. Transfer back to the lodge at sunset and have dinner after which you will be accommodated for the night.

Day 8. Head back to Kampala.

Get served breakfast at the lodging facility at the first light of the day. Check out of the facility ensuring that you leave no belongings behind.

You will thereafter undertake the transfer journey back to Kampala which will take you approximately 10 hours and 15 minutes covering the distance of 501.4 kilometers.

You will have an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural center in Mbarara where you will be served delicious local dishes to give you a taste of the Ugandan cuisine. Continue with the journey to Kampala and eventually Entebbe International Airport to fly back home.
