This offers the best and most challenging hiking experience in Uganda where a full circuit can take about 5 to 6 days in the mountains. There is a lot to see and learn ranging from the unique Bakonzo culture to the ice at Margherita Peak.
The trails are through Crater lakes, Rivers, unique plants and wildlife like the three-horned chameleons and media plants. There are two main routes used and these are the central circuit and the Kilembe trails. These mountains form the Rwenzori Mountains national park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hiking to the summit of this mountain is rewording since it offers you an opportunity to stand in 3 countries at point and these are Uganda Rwanda and DR Congo. Sabyinyo Mt gets its name from a local word which means “old man’s tooth” since the mountain is shaped like a tooth. The hikes offer a chance to meet the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys which are the main inhabitants of this park.
Sipi falls
These are 3 series of falls that originate from Mt Elgon and this offers Hiking enthusiasts great stunning views. Hiking can take about 4 hours which begins by visiting the Arabic coffee plantation and the Bamasaba culture. These will take you through cultural immersion in the music and dances.
