Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city tour
Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our driver guide. He or she will brief you about your 8 days Rwanda Expedition tour. You will embark on the Kigali city tour. Visit the local markets, Kigali Genocide Museum, and local markets. Lunch will be at a hotel in Kigali. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and embark on the drive to Akagera National Park – Rwanda’s only savannah park.
Traverse through the rolling hills of Rwanda. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure.
Make the most out of your lodge facilities like a bar and swimming pool. Have dinner and spend the night over.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema
After a delicious breakfast, you will go for a game drive in the deeper park. The game drive will introduce you to many animals including the big five; lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Other animals like zebras, giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, etc. can be seen in the park. Return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will take on a boat cruise at Lake Ihema. You will meet large numbers of crocodiles as well as schools of hippos. Enjoy panoramic views of the park. The park is also home to many bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Nyungwe National Park. The driver will take you through Kigali city. Lunch will be en route. Upon arrival at Nyungwe National Park, check in to your earlier booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk
Start with a delicious breakfast and go for a briefing. You will be assigned a chimp family to track and the adventure begins there and then. Upon meeting the chimpanzee family, you will be given one hour to spend in their presence. The park is home to other bird and primate species. Return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walk on top of the forest. The walk will give you a chance to explore the park in detail as well as enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gisakura Tea Plantation tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Volcanoes National Park. You will visit the Gisakura Tea Plantation and enjoy ultimate tea tours. It is an opportunity for you to taste real African tea straight from the garden. Continue to Volcanoes National Park with an en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Start your day with a delicious breakfast, you will then go to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track.
Enter the forests and search for mountain gorillas. Upon encounter with the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence. You will also see several primates like colobus monkeys and many bird species.
Visit the Dian Fossey grave at the Dian Fossey Conservation Center. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 8: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali
You will have breakfast and go for a briefing at the park headquarters. With the help of experienced guides, you will start the search for golden monkeys.
Upon meeting them, you will spend one hour in their presence. Enjoy them dine, mate, and play. You will transfer to Kigali via the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village for a community tour.
Lunch will be en route and the driver will drop you off at the Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight.
