Overview
Engage in this 5 day Uganda Chimpanzee and Gorilla Trekking Safari which takes you to Kibale National Park for Chimpanzee tracking and community tour and then head to Bwindi National Park through Queen Elizabeth National park for gorilla trekking. Each experience takes an hour in the presence of the primate trekked.
Have optional activities like a community tour in Bwindi and then enroute game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. This tour therefore combines wildlife, culture, and primates.
Detailed Itinerary
Day1. Pick up from Kampala/Entebbe and head to Kibale NP
Be picked from the agreed point either Kampala or Entebbe and transfer to Kibale National Park a home to over 10 primates. The park is located in the rain forested area but some parts of the park are occupied with savannahs and swamps/wetlands.
The journey to this park is amazing as you pass through the lush green vegetation of tea estates, banana gardens, and more. Arrive and have an optional activity near your lodge.
Day2. Chimpanzee tracking and Isunga community tour
Head for Chimpanzee tracking which will begin with a briefing at the park offices in Kanyanchu tourist centre. This exercise is very important since it protects you and the wildlife in the forest.
These among other rules are don’t feed wild animals, always keep a distance, don’t make noise, and don’t use flash cameras while taking photos.
While in the forest, there’s a lot to spot such as birds, vegetation, and more. Meeting the group of chimpanzees will be a rewarding adventure as they play, feed, make noise, and more.
After the walk, head back to the lodge for lunch and then visit Isunga Community offices and get a local guide for a community walk. Visit the banana gin-producing home, Crater Lakes, and end with a coffee tour experience.
Day3. Head to Bwindi NP through Queen Elizabeth National Park
Head to Bwindi National Park after breakfast with a chance to pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park which will give you a chance to spot the rare tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, elephants, buffalo, warthogs, baboons and others.
Proceed and arrive e at the lodge where you check-in.
Day4. Gorilla trekking and optional activity
Breakfast will be served of either coffee or tea which will be followed by a drive to the park offices to attend briefing. This will be the same as the I e for Chimpanzee tracking in the Kibale forest oy that here, energy-giving snack and water are highly recommended since there is walking for long distances.
On finding a group of gorillas trekked, spend an hour enjoying their behaviors like grooming young ones, beast feeding them if they have babies, searching for food, and more. After the experience, head back to the lodge and opt to visit the Batwa community.
Day5. Head back to Kampala, en route equator view point
Have an early morning breakfast which will be followed by a transfer back to Kampala through rolling hills and Kigezi terraced land. Reach at the Uganda equator point for viewing, photography, lunch, and mybe buying some souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala and be dropped at the point agreed upon.
