Overview
This tour takes you to the Mabamba swamp in Lake Victoria in search of birds such as the rare shoebill stork. There are a few areas in Uganda where the shoebill stork can be located but this area is far better. Spending the whole day canoeing will create everlasting memories since there will be a picnic lunch. Other birds you will spot here are Lesser Jacana, Papyrus Gonolek, Orange weaver, Black Egret, Black Crake, Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Goliath heron, and many more others. The tour will begin and end in Entebbe
Detailed Itinerary
Begin the day with early breakfast which will be followed by a drive the Lake Victoria and the landing site. Board a speed boat which will take you into Mabamba Swamp and then join a canoe that will take you through the swamp. Local fishermen will help us with the information on where the shoebill will be spotted. There are a lot of birds that will be spotted such as African jacana, Blue-breasted bee-eater, Long-tailed cormorant, Papyrus gonolek, Hammerkop, malachite kingfishers, black crake, Goliath Heron, and many more others.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the swamp as you keep watching different birds. You have a high chance of meeting crocodiles, hippos, and more. in the evening, you will head back and be dropped at any agreed point and this will be the end of the safari.
